1 Peter 3:3,4 - The Right Spirit.

1 Pet 3:3 (NCV) It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that
should make you beautiful.
1 Pet 3:4 (NCV) No, your beauty should come from within you--the beauty of
a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious
to God.

We should not be obsessed by fashion, but neither should we be so
unconcerned that we do not bother to care for ourselves. Hygiene, neatness,
and grooming are important, but even more important are a person's attitude
and inner spirit. True beauty begins inside. [Life Application SB]

The whole passage of I Peter 3 has to do with relationships; but before you
can have a good relationship with someone else, you must be in right
relationship with the Lord. The gentle and quiet spirit spoken of here is
said to be of great worth to God. Why do you suppose that is? Are we born
with a gentle spirit? Are we quiet by nature? These inner qualities are
said to be unfading. Does that mean over time and through troubles that
they will remain? Our model for this gentle and quiet spirit is our Lord
Jesus Christ. Reread the Gospel accounts of His life looking particularly
for evidences of these qualities in His relationships with others. Would the
people who know you best say that you have a gentle and quiet spirit? If
not, remember, it is never too late to start over with the Lord. Ask Him to
begin this new work in you today! [IN HIS TIME; WALK WITH WISDOM]
