Ezra 7:10 - Learn, Practice and Teach!
Ezra 7:10 (KJV) For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law
of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and
Ezra 7:10 (NIV) For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and
observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in
Ezra 7:10 (NNAS) For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of
the LORD and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and
ordinances in Israel.
Ezra 7:10 (NCV) Ezra had worked hard to know and obey the
Teachings of the LORD and to teach his rules and commands to the
Ezra 7:10 (GWT) Ezra was determined to study the Lord's
Teachings, live by them, and teach their rules and regulations in Israel.
Ezra 7:10 (NLT) This was because Ezra had determined to study
and obey the law of the LORD and to teach those laws and regulations
to the people of Israel.

Ezra was a consecrated man. The aim and ambition of his life was
to know the will of God, to cooperate with God, and to teach others
to do likewise. This was the man God now called to do a special

Ezra was inwardly determined. His determination was directed
toward doing three things: studying God's Law, obeying it, and teaching
it to others--an inviolable order for a successful ministry! [Bible
The order is significant. A person cannot practice what he has
not thoroughly studied; and he should not teach principles he has
not carefully applied. [New Bible Companion]
In medical school during a rotation on surgery learning to do
appendectomies we were taught "see one, do one, teach one" i.e. when you have
been shown an appendectomy you do the next one and then teach the
procedure to another with the one after that. I wonder if this concept
developed from this or a related passage of Scripture. They do have
