Proverbs 4:18 - Growing In Christ Is Like The Light Of Dawn To Noon Day.

Pro.4:18: Growing In Christ Is Like The Light Of Dawn To Noon Day.

Prov 4:18 (KJV) But the path of the just is as the shining
light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Prov 4:18 (NAB) But the path of the just is like shining light,
that grows in brilliance till perfect day.

Prov 4:18 (EAV) But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and
righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter
and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the
perfect day [to be prepared]. [2Sam.23:4; Mat.5:14; Phil.2:15.]

Prov 4:18 (CWB) Now the path of the righteous is like the first
gleam of dawn. Their way gets brighter as the morning progresses,
until the full light of day.

Prov 4:18 (MSG) The ways of right-living people glow with
light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine.

Proverbs 4:18 (TLB) But the good man walks along in the
ever-brightening light of God?s favor; the dawn gives way to morning splendor,

The righteous person is one on God's pathway of life. [Disciple

The righteous walk in increasing light, [Ryrie SB]

Relationship with God promises a clearer sense of the way to go
in life as God provides light for that life. [Disciple SB]

The closer a man comes to his Lord, the more time and effort he
gives to gaining a knowledge of God through prayerful Bible study, and
the brighter shines the light. [SDA Commentary]

Christ came to teach the human family the way of salvation, and
He made this way so plain that a little child can walk in it. He
bids His disciples follow on to know the Lord; and as they daily
follow His guidance, they learn that His going forth is prepared as the
morning.

You have watched the rising sun, and the gradual break of day
over earth and sky. Little by little the dawn increases, till the sun
appears; then the light grows constantly stronger and clearer until the
full glory of noontide is reached. This is a beautiful illustration
of what God desires to do for His children in perfecting their
Christian experience. As we walk day by day in the light He sends us, in
willing obedience to all His requirements, our experience grows and
broadens until we reach the full stature of men and women in Christ
Jesus. MYP15,16

It is not only the light shining upon the Christian that
increases. The reflected light that shines out from the just man is also
magnified in the same measure. [SDA Commentary]

The just both have light themselves and shed light on all
around, because they have within them the light of God's Word and God's
Spirit?.. a steadily increasing light. They go on from strength to
strength and glory to glory. (Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary)

Salvation begins with the ?dawning? in our hearts (?Dayspring?
in Luke 1:77-79). As we walk with the Lord, the light gets
brighter, until one day we shall step into God?s eternal light, in a land
where there is no night. [Wiersbe Expository Outlines]

Walking with God becomes better as we travel farther on.

2 Pet 1:19 (KJV)  We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a
dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your
hearts:

2 Peter 3:18 (KJV) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for
ever. Amen.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) But we all, with open face beholding as
in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
