1 Corinthians 1:8 - There Is Victory In Jesus!

1 Corinthians 1:8: There Is Victory In Jesus!

1 Corinthians 1:8 (NIV) He will keep you strong to the end, so
that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:8 (HCSB) He will also strengthen you to the end,
so that you will be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus
Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:8 (MSG) And not only that, but God himself is
right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all
wrapped up by Jesus.

This statement must not be construed as teaching that it is
impossible to fall away from grace. That defection for the believer is
possible as clearly revealed in other scriptures. Believers will be
confirmed unto the end only if they endure unto the end (Matt. 24:13; see
on John 10:28). [SDA Bible Commentary]

Believers are assured that Christ will make them firm in the
midst of trials and temptations and keep them in the path of holiness
throughout life, so that at Christs coming they will be found
unreprovable. It is not a promise that they would be perfect in the sense of
never having made a mistake, for all have sinned (Rom. 3:23;
1Jo. 1:8). Jesus will enable them to live victoriously if they submit
to Him constantly, demonstrating that they seek to please Him. At
His coming they will be found unreprovable because they are covered
with His righteousness. Blameless must be distinguished from
perfect. Blameless describes those who cannot be charged with any
crime, who stand before the Judge unaccused, and against whom there is
no ground for accusation. [SDA Bible Commentary]

Imagine this: God himself is right next to you right now. His
hands are ready to steady you. He will keep you on track with your
health and faith, proving that you can continue to trust him as your
savior and manager of your life. He will keep you on track with your
food and fitness if you ask him to. He will keep you on track in your
relationships and your mental focus. All you have to do is stay connected with
him moment by moment.
And what happens if you stray off track? He is still right
there. No blame, no condemnation. He calls you to make a U-turn and get
back on course. Those course corrections are part of how he trains
you so that you learn what works and what doesn't. Over time staying
on track will start to feel normal. Imagine that.
Right now, God is alongside you, keeping you moving steadily
toward the goals he has planned for you. [The Daniel Plan 365-Day
Devotional]

A Work In Progress
God is not finished with you yet. Oh, you may think he is.
You may think you've peaked. You may think he's got someone else to
do the job.
   If so, think again.
"God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will
continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again"
(Philippians 1:6).
Did you see what God is doing? A good work in you.
Did you see when he will be finished? When Jesus comes again.
May I spell out the message? God ain't finished with you yet.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

One of the most encouraging promises of the Bible is this: God
Himself gives us the strength to live the Christian life. Sure, we're
responsible for making the right choices and doing the right thing, but it's
God who gives us both the desire and the power to do so. When God
started a good work in your life, He intended to see it through (see
Philippians 1:6) [The 365 Daily Promise Bible By Barbour]

God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares
with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give
up on you. Never forget that. 1 Corinthians 1:9 (MSG)
