Philippians 4:4-7 - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Philippians 4:4-7: HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Philippians 4:4-7: Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say,
rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and
the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Good morning!

Today is my favorite holiday! I am thankful for many things. So
thankful for God and His promises. So thankful for my family and friends
God has placed in my life. And I am especially thankful today for
two good kidneys. After almost 6 months of testing I am scheduled
for surgery on 12/12/17 to donate a kidney to a friend's daughter.
Many others have tried to donate but very hard to find a match for
Lisa. The doctors at Emory in Atlanta said it is "A God Thing" that I
am a perfect match for Lisa. Lisa and I found out about the
surgery date on Tuesday of this week. Lisa said, "Thank you for the
gift of life. This is the best Thanksgiving and Christmas present
ever!". I am so excited for us too! More details later :)

Phil 4:4-7. Rejoice in the Lord always.

Nothing tends more to promote health of body and of soul than
does a spirit of gratitude and praise. It is a positive duty to
resist melancholy, discontented thoughts and feelings--as much a duty
as it is to pray. If we are heaven-bound, how can we go as a band
of mourners, groaning and complaining all along the way to our
Father's house? Ministry of Healing p 251

Pastor Dave had a marvelous sermon on Thanksgiving last week.
This was a slide he showed. This man was robbed many years ago and
this is what he wrote in his personal diary that day.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Love, Rebekah

I thank Thee first because I was never robbed before; second,
because although they took my purse they did not take my life; third,
because although they took my all, it was not much; and fourth because
it was I who was robbed, and not I who robbed. (Matthew Henry)
