2 Corinthians 5:17 - New Life in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if
anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The
old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) This means that
anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new
person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

My friend, Tatum, is pregnant with her
third baby. I could barely contain my joy when I
found out. There is something so utterly
delightful about a new baby. I love babies. Their
smell. Their tiny hands and feet. Their amazingly
sweet faces and the way they curl into your arms
when they are sleeping. Tatum is excited, too.
And nervous. Because babies tend to rock your
world. Each time you welcome a new little one into
your family, it changes everything. You can't
continue on with the same routine you had in the
past. You have to adjust to a new way of living.
Even though it can be scary, it is
entirely worth it. Because new life is so beautiful.
So joyful. So hopeful. Each new little person
that graces this planet is a reminder of Jesus
and the new life He offers us. When we are born
again, we are asking Jesus to take over our lives
completely. He begins to transform us into the person He
created us to be.
As Jesus infuses our lives with His
presence, everything changes. He invites us to leave
our old way of life and begin to embrace a life
of trusting Him for everything. His life in us
begins to transform us from the inside out. The
result of that transformation is new life in Him.
Love abounds. Grace surrounds us on all sides.
And His forgiveness enables us to live a life of
freedom. New beginnings. New ways of thinking.
Belonging to Him will change us forever and that
is exactly what we really long for! by Suzanne

Im a big fan of historic architecture
and love the stories behind the buildings. On a
recent road trip, I became fascinated with a
magnificent old structure located in a citys
downtown. Incredible detail graced the windows and
balconies, and multiple spires rose like a crown from
its rooftop high overhead. Wow!
I investigated, learning the grand hotel
had been built in the early 1920s and became the
towns social hub. But after only a few years the
building suffered financial struggles. It fell into
disrepair and was condemned in the 1960s, standing
vacant until the 1980s, when it was updated and
repurposed to be subsidized housing. Reading about that
buildings heyday, I remembered myself as a young
woman, the embodiment of a free spirit. Pride
and thrill-seeking made up a large part of my
personality. But inside, I was derelict. How many years
did I present a proud face while remaining
hollow inside? Too long.
   I needed a second chance - someone
willing to rebuild me, bit by bit. When I found
Jesus, I discovered new hope, and another way to
live. Today Im able to reach out in kindness,
to see worth inside peoples hearts just as
He did with mine. Sharing His love is part of
the way Hes repurposed me.
Im not rich, nor am I young. But still
I shine with an inner light and wear a crown.
Only now, its because I belong to the King. by
