Revelation 21:5 - I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW!

Revelation 21:5 (KJV) And he that sat upon
the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these words are
true and faithful.

INTRODUCTION

God is the Creator. The Bible begins with
the majestic story of his creation of the
universe, and it concludes with his creation of a new
heaven and a new earth. This is a tremendous hope
and encouragement for the believer. When we are
with God, with our sins forgiven and our future
secure, we will be like Christ. We will be made
perfect like him. [Life Application SB]

COMMENTARY PEARL

All the treasures of the universe will be
open to the study of God's redeemed. Unfettered
by mortality, they wing their tireless flight
to worlds afar - worlds that thrilled with
sorrow at the spectacle of human woe and rang with
songs of gladness at the tidings of a ransomed
soul. With unutterable delight the children of
earth enter into the joy and the wisdom of
unfallen beings. They share the treasures of
knowledge and understanding gained through ages upon
ages in contemplation of God's handiwork. With
undimmed vision they gaze upon the glory of creation
- suns and stars and systems, all in their
appointed order circling the throne of Deity. Upon all
things, from the least to the greatest, the
Creator's name is written, and in all are the riches
of His power displayed.
And the years of eternity, as they roll,
will bring richer and still more glorious
revelations of God and of Christ. As knowledge is
progressive, so will love, reverence, and happiness
increase. The more men learn of God, the greater will
be their admiration of His character. As Jesus
opens before them the riches of redemption and the
amazing achievements in the great controversy with
Satan, the hearts of the ransomed thrill with more
fervent devotion, and with more rapturous joy they
sweep the harps of gold; and ten thousand times
ten thousand and thousands of thousands of
voices unite to swell the mighty chorus of praise.
And every creature which is in heaven,
and on the earth, and under the earth, and such
as are in the sea, and all that are in them,
heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory,
and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the
throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
Revelation 5:13.
The great controversy is ended. Sin and
sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean.
One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through
the vast creation. From Him who created all,
flow life and light and gladness, throughout the
realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom
to the greatest world, all things, animate and
inanimate, in their unshadowed beauty and perfect joy,
declare that God is love. Mar373

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

I am making everything new! This is the
opposite of what is always happening in your world of
death and decay. Every day that you live means one
less day remaining in your lifespan on this
earth. Actually, this is very good news for My
followers. At the end of each day, you can tell
yourself: "I'm one step closer to heaven.
The world is in such a desperately fallen
condition that there is only one remedy for it: making
everything new. So do not be discouraged when your
efforts to improve matters are unsuccessful. All
things - including your efforts - are tainted by
the Fall. Although I want you to endeavor to do
your best, in dependence on Me, your world needs
much more than a tune-up or an overhaul. It needs
to be made completely new! And this is
absolutely guaranteed to happen at the end of time, for
My words are trustworthy and true.
You have good reason to rejoice, beloved,
because I will make everything - including you - new
and gloriously perfect! (Rev. 21:5; Phi. 1:21;
Rom. 8:22-23) [Jesus Always by Sarah Young]

CLOSING THOUGHT

God Is Preparing Us For That Day

My favorite movie, ANNE OF Green Gables,
has a great line: Tomorrow is fresh with no
mistakes in it! Sometimes I share that with my
students at the beginning of a new semester. Its a
great feeling to start with a clean slate.
Making us new is what Jesus is all about.
This is the theme of the Christian story -
redemption. Rising from ashes. Over and over again. From
His perspective, it doesnt matter what
happened in the past year, what mistakes we made or
problems we faced. Those things dont define us in
His eyes. What matters is the new thing Hes
doing today.
Im sure youve seen the caricatures
of the old and new year. The year that is
ending is always pictured as an old man, stooped,
haggard, and tired. On his way out. And the new year
comes in like a perfect, shiny baby, with light in
his eyes. Its a marvelous metaphor for how
Jesus makes us new. He takes the tired, the worn
out, the hopeless and defeated, and He breathes
new life into us. New strength, new energy, new
hope. New life.
Jesus came to give us life to the
fullest. That starts the moment we accept Him and
begin to share His perspective. Hes not looking
for perfection. Hes looking for someone to
grow in Him, becoming more like Him, moment by
moment, year by passing year. by Gwen Ford

Faith Step: Write down and commit to
Jesus three areas in which youd like to grow.
Ask Him to make them new. [Mornings With Jesus
