Philippians 4:19 - All Our Needs Fulfilled in Christ.

Philippians 4:19 (NIV) And my God will meet 
all your needs according to his glorious riches 
in Christ Jesus. 

COMMENTARY PEARL

   Last Sunday, as I headed across the 
parking lot after church, a woman I hadn't seen for 
a while walked ahead of me. I caught up and 
asked the too-traditional question, "How are you 
doing?" 
   She answered, "Great  okay, there's 
more behind that response." Her smile didn't 
fade, but her voice had dropped by several 
decibels. She explained that life was great only 
because Jesus is good, not because her circumstances 
were. She'd been betrayed, made bad relationship 
choices when she thought that Jesus wasn't enough, 
and she was still recovering from recently 
distancing herself from her bad choices, still choking 
on the fallout. But her confidence in the 
goodness of Jesus had been strengthened in the 
process. She could say with conviction that He'd 
proved Himself more than enough, even when everyone 
else - and her own decisions - disappointed her. 
   Many of us can point to a time when life 
around us crumbled - financially, physically, 
relationally - but during that season we learned with 
greater clarity to embrace the wonder that Jesus is 
the only truth that never lets us down, abandons 
or disappoints us. 
   In some ways, my church friend represents 
thrill seekers everywhere - those convinced the 
things that thrill the human heart are worldly 
experiences, possessions, or other human beings. Jesus 
holds us tightly while we discover the truth - 
sometimes at great cost - proving again and again that 
He is not just more than enough but all we will
