Hebrews 13:6 - Fathers Day Special: DAD OF ALL DADS.

Hebrews 13:6 (NIV) So we say with 
confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be 
afraid. What can man do to me?"  

COMMENTARY PEARLS

   Im a world-class worrier. If there 
were an NWL - National Worrying League - I'd be 
an MVP. It's the reason I experienced my first 
ulcer when I was only nineteen. I remember that 
the doctor was shocked asking how a 
Nineteen-year-old managed to get an ulcer.   
   Worry, fear, and anxiety are three 
related conditions that attack us all. But some of 
us just cant seem to hand them over to Jesus 
and walk away. He has promised to be with us 
always, helping us, comforting us, and assuring us 
of his constant care. But we're like children 
clutching their broken toys, and he can't help us 
unless we let him.  
   Sadly, these issues won't fix themselves. 
We have to be proactive in our journey with 
Jesus. Each time we begin to feel overcome by 
worry, fear, anxiety, or a combination of the 
three, we must stop right where we are, pray, and 
give the situation to God. If there is so much as 
a tiny hesitation, it helps to remind 
ourselves that God can handle any and all of our 
concerns far better than we can handle them on our 
own. He really does have everything under 
control.  
   Father, I give my worry, fear, and 
anxiety to you. I know that you are in complete 
control of my situation, and I can trust you to take 
care of it as you always do. In Jesus' name,

   My dad is a doer. Sitting around and 
doing nothing is not his gig. When my parents 
visited our new home in Idaho for the first time, 
Dad went out and bought us the essentials for 
our beautiful new lawn: a lawn mower and an edge 
trimmer. Next, he set about teaching me how to use 
them both. This took a minute, but my dad was 
kind. He didn't make fun of me when I almost 
pulled my arm out of the socket trying to start the 
lawn mower the first time. He was also patient 
when I flooded the engine, causing us to wait 
another fifteen minutes before we could mow the 
lawn. Next, he setup a shelving unit in our garage 
to store my books. He followed this up with 
detailing our car. He always helps us. He can't do 
enough for us. I think it is because he loves us so 
much. 
   I get the same feeling about Jesus. He is 
a doer. He is not sitting around waiting for 
things to happen. He makes them happen. He sets me 
free from sin, heals my hurting heart, and fills 
me up with love. Moreover, He opened the way 
for me to have a relationship with His Father. 
My heavenly Dad. Day in and day out, Jesus does 
good things on my behalf. All because He loves me

on your fridge to remind you that Jesus is in 
the business of overwhelming you with His love.
