Titus 2:13 - Christ Is Coming Again.

Titus 2:13 (NLT) we look forward with hope
to that wonderful day when the glory of our
great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be
revealed.

COMMENTARY PEARL

One of the best ways to get rid of
discouragement is to remember that Christ is coming again.
What is happening in your life right now is not
going to last forever!
The most thrilling, glorious truth in all
the world is the second coming of Jesus Christ.
When we look about today and see pessimism on
every side, we should remember the Bible is the
only book in the world that reliably predicts the
future. The Bible is more modern than tomorrow's
newspaper. It says the consummation of all things shall
be the coming again of Jesus Christ to this
earth.
This truth gives us hope - but it should
also sober us and make us more diligent. After
all, we do not know when Christ will return.
Jesus Himself said, "Of that day and hour no one
knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father
only" (Matt. 24:36). Believing in the return of
Christ doesn't make us less concerned about this
world; it makes us more concerned, because we know
time may be short. Now is the time to live for
Christ and witness for Him.
   Believers happily anticipate Christs
return because it signals the end of our earthly
struggles. Knowing that he could return at any time
should also instilled in us an urgency to share the
gospel with those around us. Who, in your life,
needs to hear the good news of the Cross today?

COMMENTARY

As Though It Were Your Last
When someone asked the great evangelist
Dwight L. Moody how he would spend the day if he
knew it was his last one, he said he wouldnt
do anything differently than he did every day.
That is the way we all should live as
Christians.
We can find a lot in the Bible about the
Lords return. In the 260 chapters in the New
Testament, Christs return is mentioned no less than
318 times. Statistically, one out of every
twenty-five verses in the Bible mentions the return of
Jesus Christ.
For the sake of a point, lets say we
knew that Jesus Christ was returning at 3:00
tomorrow afternoon. Im sure we would all look like
saints at 2:45. Wed be wearing our Sunday
morning smiles with our come-quickly-Jesus
attitudes.
Of course, we know this isnt possible,
because no one knows the day or the hour. Jesus said
of His return, However, no one knows the day
or hour when these things will happen, not even
the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only
the Father knows (Matthew 24:36 NLT).
But the fact is that we ought to live
this way every day. We have never been closer to
the Lords return than we are right now.
The Bible says, But you must not
forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like
a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand
years is like a day. The Lord isnt really being
slow about his promise, as some people think. No,
he is being patient for your sake. He does not
want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone
to repent (2 Peter 3:8"9 NLT).
We should live every day as though it
were the day Christ is coming back. We should
live every day as though it were our last. [Greg
