2 Timothy 4:2 (NLT) Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. COMMENTARY PEARL Recently, my friend Christine posted on social media, "Check out my photos from Rome!" I followed the link and saw Christine had not traveled to Rome in person but was going on virtual tours. Through an online venue, out-of-work tour guides gave free virtual tours to "travelers." In addition to tour guides offering tips, hodophiles (people who love to travel) were enjoying unique places worldwide while meeting those from other countries - all in the comfort of their own home. I joined some tours, and my heart was drawn to people from across the globe. Lord, each virtual tour is a window to the world. How can I reach the numerous "guides" and "travelers "for You? Jesus prompted me with an idea. Knowing that some people in the world don't know even one Christian, I decided to become a virtual tour guide myself. I signed up and shared not only the beauty of Arkansas, the state in which I lived, but also my life and faith. Showing others downtown Little Rock and Riverside Park provided a chance to talk about the wonders of Jesus in creation and my faith. Strangers from around the world became friends and hopefully would one day become my brothers and sisters in Christ. By hosting virtual tours of Arkansas, I joined Jesus's real mission to spread the Good News about Him. Even though we toured the Ozarks virtually, I let travelers know that Jesus was never virtual - He is the real, rock-solid foundation. Tricia Gayer Faith Step: Pray and ask Jesus to show you opportunities to share the Good News about Him, whether online or in person.
