COMMENTARY PEARL

Blessed By The Word
   The Word of God gives life to everything. 
The Word of God nourishes our souls. We are told 
to desire the pure milk of the Word - it 
enables us to grow (1 Peter 2:2). 
   The Word of God is to be obeyed. "But 
those who obey God's word truly show how 
completely they love him. That is how we know we are 
living in him" (1 John 2:5 NLT). 
   The Word of God provides fellowship with 
Him. The story is told of a young lady who was 
given a new novel, but she thought it was the 
driest thing she'd ever read. Some months later she 
met a young man and fell in love. His name had 
seemed familiar to her, and when she picked up the 
novel again, she discovered that he had written 
the book. She began reading it again and 
couldn't put it down. 
   What made the difference? She had fallen 
in love with the author. When we fully realize 
who is speaking to us in the Word, we will look 
at it differently too.
