Isaiah 40:28 - What An AWESOME GOD We Have!

Isaiah 40:28 (NKJV) Have you not known? Have
you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither
faints nor is weary. His understanding is
unsearchable.

Isaiah 40:28 (NIV) Do you not know? Have you
not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the
Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow
tired or weary, and his understanding no one can
fathom.

Isaiah 40:28 (CWR) Dont you know that the
Lord our God is the everlasting One? Haven't you
heard that He always was and always will be? He's
the Creator of the universe! He never gets
tired. He never gets weary. His understanding has
no limits.

INTRODUCTION

Trusting in the Lord is the patient
expectation that God will fulfill his promises in his
Word and strengthen us to rise above life's
difficulties. Do you believe God loves you and wants the
best for you? Can you relax, confident that his
purposes are right? Are you convinced that he has the
power to control all of life - and your life as
well? Though your faith may be struggling or weak,
accept his provisions and care for you. [Life
Application SB re vs. 40:31]

Even the strongest people get tired at
times, but God's power and strength never diminish.
He is never too tired or too busy to help and
listen. His strength is our source of strength. When
you feel all of life crushing you and you cannot
go another step, remember that you can call
upon God to renew your strength. [Life
Application SB re vss. 40:29-31]

Isaiah describes God's power to create, his
provision to sustain, and his presence to help. God is
almighty and all-powerful; but even so, he cares for
each of us personally. No person or thing can be
compared to God (40:25). We describe God as best we
can with our limited knowledge and language, but
we only limit our understanding of him and his
power when we compare him to what we experience on
earth. What is your concept of God, especially as
revealed in his Son, Jesus Christ? Don't limit his
work in your life by underestimating him. [Life
Application SB re vss. 40:12-31]

COMMENTARY PEARL

If Youre Worn Down, Show Up
The bigger the changes that happen in
your life, the more time you need to spend with
God.
That time with God is called a quiet
time. You read the Bible, talk to God in prayer,
and are quiet so you can listen to what God
wants to say to you.
When youre stressed out, time alone
with God is the great stabilizer in your life.
Its also the greatest re-energizer when youre
worn out. Weve all gone through a lot of
stress the last few years, and some of us dont
have as much energy as we used to. Chronic stress
has drained us as so much in our lives has
changed.
   Are you feeling fatigued? Thats
natural. Its what chronic stress does to our
bodies. No matter how much sleep we get at night, we
wake up tired or start to drag a few hours into
the day. If you feel like youre just trying
to get by, you are not alone.
   If youre feeling overwhelmed,
exhausted, stressed out, and like youre barely
hanging on, then you need to remember Isaiah 40:28:
Dont you know? Havent you heard? The LORD is
the everlasting God; he created all the world.
He never grows tired or weary (GNT).
God created the entire universe in six
days - and he only rested on the seventh day to
model a Sabbath for us. He never gets tired! He is
never overwhelmed or worn out. He never gets
stressed. He can handle anything - including all the
things you cant.
If you spend more time with God, who
never grows tired or weary, then youre going to
have more energy. Spending time with God is not a
burden or a drudgery or a drain - its the
opposite! He gives strength to those who are weary. He
gives peace and rest.
If youre stressed, dont seek a
quick fix. Dont look for a shortcut. Dont
fight changes that you cant possibly control.
Instead, spend time with God every day. [Daily

COMMENTARY

He Gives Power to the Weak
From the stars that in their trackless
courses through space follow from age to age their
appointed path, down to the minutest atom, the things
of nature obey the Creators will. And God
cares for everything and sustains everything that
He has created. He who upholds the unnumbered
worlds throughout immensity, at the same time cares
for the wants of the little brown sparrow that
sings its humble song without fear. When men go
forth to their daily toil, as when they engage in
prayer; when they lie down at night, and when they
rise in the morning; when the rich man feasts in
his palace, or when the poor man gathers his
children about the scanty board, each is tenderly
watched by the heavenly Father. No tears are shed
that God does not notice. There is no smile that
He does not mark.
If we would but fully believe this, all
undue anxieties would be dismissed. Our lives
would not be so filled with disappointment as now;
for everything, whether great or small, would be
left in the hands of God, who is not perplexed by
the multiplicity of cares, or overwhelmed by
their weight. We should then enjoy a rest of soul
to which many have long been strangers. SC86

ADDITIONAL THOUGHT

God Lasts
In the challenges of life, do you ever
feel like God has lost track of you? We may feel
lost, but he doesn't come and go. He lasts. He
rides through the ups and the downs with us. We
may get tired, but he never does. When we're
weary, we can lean on him, because he never loses
patience with us. No matter how many down days we
have, God is always ready to start fresh.
He also knows everything, inside and out.
If you aren't sure what to aim at, ask him to
show you. When it comes to your health, you can
ask him what he desires for you, what are your
next steps, and hell be right there with an
answer. He desires to use your life; his vision goes
beyond the limitations of what you can see.
God cares intimately about all that
happens to you, and he has a unique vision of who
you can become. [The Daniel Plan 365-Day
