Psalm 119:89 - Gods Word is Eternal.
Psalms 119:89 (NIV) Your word, O LORD, is
eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
INTRODUCTION
If you trust God's Word, you will have a
solid foundation in a world that offers you no
stability. The Word of God is settled; nothing can
change it or destroy it (v. 152; Matt. 24:35). God
is faithful and His Word can be trusted. The
same Word that created the world (v. 90) and runs
the world (v. 91) will also govern your life and
make it secure. [Chapter by Chapter Bible

COMMENTARY PEARL
Founded in 1848, our town, Albany,
Oregon, has more than 700 historic structures -
including our home. Out of respect to the original
craftsmanship, the historic society encourages homeowners
to retain as many of the original features as
possible. Consequently, our 110-year-old historic home
has no insulation, so on some wintry mornings, I
indulge in a bath. As I soak in the luxurious hot
water, I gaze at the skylight above. A glittery
ceiling of frost twinkles on the curved plexiglass,
forming a prism in soft shades of pink, green, blue,
and white. The below-freezing weather taking
place just 10 feet above me seems distant from my
reality. I'm safe, warm, cozy, and secure in the tub.
Nothing - not the phone, the front door, or daily
concerns - can disturb the serenity enveloping me.
Instead, I breathe in the steamy air and let the
bubbly water ease my tense muscles as my mind
empties.
Later, dressed and better ready to greet
the day, I pause in prayer. I may encounter
interpersonal conflicts, financial challenges, or illness.
Only God knows what the hours ahead will hold.
But I have a buffer for the anxieties that make
up daily life, one much more effective than a
toasty tub. Jesus.
Jesus doesn't need bubbles or fragrant
oil to calm me. He is the Prince of Peace
(Isaiah 9:6). Knowing I can place my trust in Him to
guide me through anything and everything, I am
bathed in an unshakable sense of serenity. Heidi

Faith Step: When was the last time you
took a luxurious bath? Set aside some time to
relax in the tub. Feel the serenity that Jesus
brings. [Mornings With Jesus 2024 Devotional by
