Psalm 42:8 (NIV) By day the LORD directs his 
love, at night his song is with me - a prayer to 
the God of my life.  

Psalm 42:8 (NLT) But each day the LORD pours 
his unfailing love upon me, and through each 
night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives 
me life.  

COMMENTARY PEARL

Lifestyle of Prayer
   There is not a moment when God's promises 
of love are not pouring over you. Think about 
that. Soak it in! Right now, he is lavishing the 
love song of his affection over your life and 
over your very being! 
   God's love is not just to be known about. 
It is to be experienced. No matter how long or 
little it's been since you've felt the love of the 
Lord, may you be drenched in the goodness of his 
heart toward you today. Right now, even as you 
read these words, may the Spirit of God flood you 
with the light of his mercy. Let your heart open 
in response, and let your lifestyle be a living 
prayer to the God who calls you his own! 
   Ask the Lord to reveal his presence to 
you in deep, tangible ways. Offer him your
