Romans 5:8 - Unfathomable Love.

Romans 5:8 (NLT) But God showed his great
love for us by sending Christ to die for us while
we were still sinners.

INTRODUCTION

While we were still sinners - these are
amazing words. God sent Jesus Christ to die for us,
not because we were good enough, but just
because he loved us. Whenever you feel uncertain
about God's love for you, remember that he loved
you even before you turned to him. [Life

COMMENTARY PEARL

The Most Wicked Man of All Time
Who is the most wicked man to ever live?
In a sermon, Billy Graham claimed that it was
Manasseh, a king of Judah. One Google search suggests
it may have been Aleister Crowley, the famous
occultist. Several recognizable names appear in lists
of "the most evil men of all time" - Adolf
Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and the Roman emperor Nero,
to name but a few.
Why did God permit these men to live and
do the things they did? What if God had
destroyed Adam and Eve instead of extending grace
toward them? What if God had struck you down
immediately the first time you sinned?
The truth is that God is "longsuffering
toward us, not willing that any should perish but
that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter
3:9). Christ's sacrifice extended probationary
time to every person. While we were still in our
sins, while we were committing the very acts that
wounded the Savior, He chose to give His life in the
hope that it might save us from eternal death. It
is His desire that we might at last appreciate
His love, turn from unrighteousness, and live
together with Him forever.
God loves you. When you make a mistake,
when you sin, God desires not to destroy you but,
rather, to redeem you. You can trust in the goodness
of God, knowing that in your sickness, He
promises His remedy. He desires for you to be in His
kingdom.
Father in heaven, thank You for Your
great love. Help me to love others in the way that
You've loved me. [The Most Amazing Bible Promises
