Psalm 150:6 - Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord!!!

TRANLATIONS AND PARAPHRASES

Psalm 150:6 (NKJV) Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:6 (NLT) Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:6 (MSG) Let every living, breathing creature praise God! Hallelujah!

INTRODUCTION

How could the message be more clear? The writer was telling each and every listener to praise God. What a fitting way to end this book of praise - with direct encouragement for you to praise God too! Remember to praise him every day.
The book of Psalms parallels a person's own spiritual journey through life. It begins by presenting us with two roads - the way to life and the way to death. The way to death leads to deprivation and utter destruction. If we choose God's way to life, we will still face blessings and troubles, joy and grief, successes and obstacles. But through it all, God will be with us, guiding, encouraging, comforting, and caring for us. If we have been wise and faithful, we will clearly realize when our lives draw to an end that God's road has been the right road. Knowing this will cause us to praise God for leading us in the right direction and for bringing us into the perfect world he has in store for all who have faithfully followed him. [Life Application SB 2019]

COMMENTARY PEARL

If we would but think of God as often as we have evidence of His care for us we should keep Him ever in our thoughts and should delight to talk of Him and to praise Him. We talk of temporal things because we have an interest in them. We talk of our friends because we love them; our joys and our sorrows are bound up with them. Yet we have infinitely greater reason to love God than to love our earthly friends; it should be the most natural thing in the world to make Him first in all our thoughts, to talk of His goodness and tell of His power. The rich gifts He has bestowed upon us were not intended to absorb our thoughts and love so much that we should have nothing to give to God; they are constantly to remind us of Him and to bind us in bonds of love and gratitude to our heavenly Benefactor. We dwell too near the lowlands of earth. Let us raise our eyes to the open door of the sanctuary above, where the light of the glory of God shines in the face of Christ, who "is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him." Hebrews 7:25.
We need to praise God more "for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men." Psalm 107:8. Our devotional exercises should not consist wholly in asking and receiving. Let us not be always thinking of our wants and never of the benefits we receive. We do not pray any too much, but we are too sparing of giving thanks. We are the constant recipients of God's mercies, and yet how little gratitude we express, how little we praise Him for what He has done for us.  {SC 102} [Remnant SB]

COMMENTARY

Worship Is a Lifestyle
Worship is not just a genre on the radio or the songs we sing in church. While that can certainly be an expression of worship, at its core, worship is a lifestyle, one of deep and revelatory gratitude.
   Worship is a lifestyle.
When you get this view of worship in mind, it becomes a game-changing reality for your relationship with God. No longer do you have to worry about how well you sing or how musically talented you are. God isn't looking for your creative prowess. He simply wants you to direct your thoughts and emotions toward Him. He wants your affection. Your desires. Your voice. He wants your heart and all that really matters to you.
Embrace a lifestyle of worship today, and as you experience a little bit of heaven here on earth, watch how it changes you. Worship sharpens our sight, putting everything into perspective. It can transform mundane moments into extraordinary opportunities for joy. You were created with His wonder pulsing through you. Let your life be an expression of it.
Dear God, I'm done confining my worship to Sunday mornings. I worship You here and now, with all that I have. [Grace and Glory by Louie Giglio]

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Come to Me with your gaping emptiness, knowing that in Me you are complete. As you rest quietly in My Presence, My Light within you grows brighter and brighter. Facing the emptiness inside you is simply the prelude to being filled with My fullness. Therefore, rejoice on those days when you drag yourself out of bed, feeling sluggish and inadequate. Tell yourself that this is a perfect day to depend on Me in childlike trust. If you persevere in this dependence as you go through the day, you will discover at bedtime that Joy and Peace have become your companions. You may not realize at what point they joined you on your journey, but you will feel the beneficial effects of their presence. The perfect end to such a day is a doxology of gratitude. I am He from whom all blessings flow! [2 Cor. 4:6; Mat. 5:3, 6; Col. 2:9, 10; Psa. 150:6] [Jesus Calling by Sarah Young]
