John 1:16 - God's Grace Beyond Measure.John 1:16 (NIV) From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.John 1:16 (NLT) From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. COMMENTARY PEARL He who loves Christ the most will do the greatest amount of good. There is no limit to the usefulness of one who, by putting self aside, makes room for the working of the Holy Spirit upon his heart, and lives a life wholly consecrated to God. If men will endure the necessary discipline, without complaining or fainting by the way, God will teach them hour by hour, and day by day. He longs to reveal His grace. DA 250-251 COMMENTARY A Mosaic Of Grace If you've ever found yourself in an old church, you've likely walked under some magnificent stained glass windows. But have you ever stopped to consider how many different and unique pieces of broken glass each window comprises? When you reflect on your life, you might see a hodgepodge of experiences that seemingly have no rhyme or reason. Maybe some parts of your past are a little rough around the edges - some you wish you could forget forever. But every experience you've had - your pain, joys, successes, defeats - is part of the mosaic of God's grace in your life. God is an expert craftsman, and He knows how to fashion beauty from our brokenness. That's the gospel at work. God takes our shards and, in His infinite goodness and wisdom, He makes something majestic and beautiful out of our lives. It's also the message of the church. A multitude of unique pieces coming together to reflect a great and beautiful image - Jesus. His grace is available to all, so go out and tell the world about the God who takes broken things and makes them whole. Dear God, thank You that You take every part of my story and work it into a beautiful mosaic of Your grace and love.
